My Vision for Melrose East Community: See the full potential realized for a neighborhood that historically supports lower income housing with mixed commercial and industrial usage. Melrose East is situated in the heart of Baton Rouge surrounded by stellar businesses, educational facilities, charitable organizations, quasi-public entities, high tech and industrial operations. Melrose East has relatively low cost vacant property that could
attract new business and provide opportunity for existing business expansion. A low crime rate and a community that is clean and offers opportunity for residents and business alike is the goal that ME-CPD and MECA has sought from inception. Together, this can be accomplished for the good of this community, inhabitants, business owners and Greater Baton Rouge.
